The Germ Freak's Guide to Outwitting Colds and Flu: Guerilla Tactics to Keep Yourself Healthy at Home, at Work and in the World by Allison Janse, Charles Gerba
Paperback: 224 pages
Publisher: HCI (2005)
based on 19 customer reviews.
From a reader review:
My husband (a general surgeon) and I read this book on a recent trip to Texas and not only was it a fun read but a very informative one
too! It's definitely an eye-opener and as parents of a 4-year old son (we can't afford to get sick!) we feel it's a must read for anyone
with small children. One thing is for sure, after reading this book you'll never look at airplane blankets, hotel room comforters or
department store makeup displays the same way again! You'll also be more inclined to take small steps like washing out your water bottle
with soap before refilling it. Considering a cold or flu can set you back for weeks (or more!) when it only takes about 30 seconds to put
into action the recommendations made in this book I couldn't agree more with the authors that I would much rather be safe than sick!

Never Get Another Cold by Thomas Appell
Hardcover: 176 pages
Publisher: VDP (2005)
based on 5 customer reviews.
From an editorial review: "Thomas Appell claims to have come up with a diet that prevents people from getting a cold or the flu."
From the book description: "
In the first NEVER GET ANOTHER COLD Diet case study, former chronically sick participants experienced a 97% reduction in cold/flu episodes
over a 24 month period. What this means is that if you and four of your friends usually get sick three times per year with a bad cold or
case of the flu, you would experience 15 cold/flu episodes in 12 months, and 30 cold/flu episodes in 24 months. After following the
dietary recommendations in NEVER GET ANOTHER COLD, in the next two years there would only be one cold/flu episode between all of you and
four of you would not get sick at all."
